![]() It's also complicated by the fact that I use a single Jackett entry for all indexers on my Jackett setup, so Sonarr has no way of differentiating between torrents pulled in from one site vs another - it just sees Jackett. And as you mention, this process manages it for Radarr and Sonarr (I'm on v3 for both). It is also safer if you are not using a VPN, because you aren't sharing the files at all.Oh, how do you do that? I can't see any settings for seed/ratio in the indexer config screen. Yes, there is a cost for a "provider" and an "indexer", but there is generally more content available and faster downloads. If you haven't already, check out the ArchvileX youtube tutorial I mentioned earlier: Īfter you get it set up, I would suggest looking into Usenet as your preferred downloader instead of torrents. If you were using Virtualbox or running uTorrent on a different computer, the host would be the IP address of the Virtual Machine or the different computer. That being said, it is possible to set up uTorrent to prevent it from seeding (and at the very least you can set it up to remove the torrent after the download has completed).įor adding uTorrent to Sonarr, the "host" should be "localhost" or 127.0.0.1. Basically, if you are seeding a copyrighted file (which you usually are at least while you are downloading it, even if you remove it after the download is finished), you could get in trouble with your ISP or worse. There are many sites that will tell you about the risks of using using torrents without VPN, so I won't get into it too much. Once you do, it is totally worth it though. I understand your reluctance, it is a bit daunting to get it all set up. # Start > Run "shell:startup", create new file: ubuntu.bat # (Note: an alternative to this is to use VBoxVmService) # Finally, set up the Windows host to automatically start the Ubuntu docker host VM on Windows login # work around this, open /config/nf and locate the line that says "enabled_plugins" and change it to: # For some reason, plugins you select using the WebUI are not persisted across container restarts. Sudo echo "d /d vboxsf defaults 0 0" > /etc/fstab # Add the "D" drive as a shared volume using VirtualBox Manager, then run the following: # Mount "D" drive (this is where I store my torrents and other data) # Now you can log in using PuTTY (or other SSH client), and test the docker installation "C:\Program Files\Oracle\VirtualBox\VBoxManage.exe" startvm Ubuntu -type headless # This may be a good point to shut down the server and start it using "headless" mode, Sudo add-apt-repository "deb $(lsb_release -cs) stable" Sudo apt install apt-transport-https ca-certificates curl software-properties-common ![]() # Go to Console > Devices > Insert Guest Additions CD image # Install Samba (this is just so we can use the hostname for SSH and web connections) # Requirements: VirtualBox installed, with an Ubuntu Server 18.04 VM running (no extra packages needed) # This is not an executable script! It is just a playbook with comments to describe each step. # I am running this on Windows 10 Home, but theoretically this should work with any host OS # The docker command is specific to PIA, but can be modified for other VPN providers ![]() # The benefit is to be able to safely run torrents through VPN without affecting the routing of other traffic # These are step-by-step instructions for getting Binhex's excellent DelugeVPN container up and running. # Instructions for installing Docker/DelugeVPN Docker Container using VirtualBox While I was getting it set up, I made a write-up, if you are interested: This is nice because it allows just the torrent traffic to go through VPN, and everything else stays local. However, I recently changed to Deluge using Docker and the DelugeVPN container by binhex. The problem is that you need to run all your traffic through VPN to do this safely, which is annoying if this isn't a dedicated torrenting machine. I am running uTorrent 3.5.5 The settings needed for Sonarr are defined in the regular uTorrent UI under Options > Preferences > Advanced > Web UI (Username, Password, Port), and the Category needs to be set up in Options > Preferences > Label. I have successfully set up uTorrent and Sonarr automation using ArchvileX's Youtube tutorial. ![]()
